John Kerry announced Thursday that he intends to present Congress with The Downing Street Memo, reported by the London Times 1 May 2005.
As reported by NewsMax, the memo purports to include minutes from a July 2002 meeting with Tony Blair, in which Blair ostensibly said that President Bush’s Administration “fixed” intelligence on Iraq in order to justify the Iraqi war.
In an interview with the Standard Times, Kerry said: "It's amazing to me the way it escaped major media discussion. It's not being missed on the Internet, I can tell you that."
The Boston Globe published an article by Ralph Nader, Tuesday, in which Nader also called for President Bush’s impeachment. The story is being carried on Michael Moore’s website and the Democratic Underground.
Failed presidential candidate Kerry advised that he will begin the presentation of his case for President Bush’s impeachment to Congress, on Monday.

Al-Jazeera: Kerry to push for impeachment of Bush
1) Why is this not news for the mainstream U.S. media? The once and wanna-be future king of the Democrats wants to impeach the President!
2) How will Moveon.org handle this? Their reason for being, and the origin of their name, is the belief that the President is too important to be distracted by allegations of little things like sexual harassment, rape, perjury, and obstruction of justice. Will they change their name to Dontmoveon.org? Too late -- it's taken!
The News-Reporter, a Conservative, twisted Kerry's words, I've just learned. Here's the truth of the matter as given to me:
"Actually Kerry said nothing of impeachment when he said, "When I go back on Monday, I am going to raise the issue," when speaking of the Downing Street Memos. A basic understanding of the Constitution, not to mention a respect for honest journalism, should make the author realize the absurdity of this false statement. Impeachment must begin in the House of Representatives, and therefore Senator Kerry would not be involved in a move towards impeachment. However, as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, it would be reasonable for Kerry to investigate such evidence that President Bush lied to Congress, as well as the American people, while preparing to go to war against Iraq based upon distorting intelligence reports."
I've also read that Kerry was going to "read the Memo", but that's considerably different from "raising the issue". Guess we'll just have to wait until Monday to see how he will handle it.
"The News-Reporter, a Conservative, twisted Kerry's words"
Sorry, bud, you're wrong. Kerry's words (quoted in the article) were HIS words. A title is a title. Please also note that terrorist news site Al-Jazeera copied Zieve's article, verbatim, and published it as its own.
Here are Kerry's exact words:
"When I go back [to Washington] on Monday, I am going to raise the issue,"
Kerry said, referring to the Downing Street Memo in an interview with
Massachusetts' Standard Times newspaper.
"I think it's a stunning, unbelievably simple and understandable statement
of the truth and a profoundly important document that raises stunning issues
here at home," the top Democrat added.
